Grimsleys are no strangers to patriotism or respect for our government and
the symbol of our freedom, the United States American Flag. We are
grateful to our parents for those values.
Dad served his country in the
Navy
during World War II and the
Korean Conflict.
Gene served his country in the
Army
during the Vietnam war. His son, Scott, worked fulltime
for the Army for several years,
recruiting
young men and women to join the armed forces. |

Gene's daughter, Karen, and her husband, Scott LaRoche,
are both in active duty, currently stationed in Texas. We solicit
your thoughts and prayers for their commitment and safety through what
promises to be a turbulent road ahead.
Grandpa William Koobs served in World War I (Grandpa Grimsley
had an artificial leg which prohibited his service). All the
uncles served their country: Uncles Claire, Jack, Roger and Jerry
Koobs; Uncles Wendell and Vernon Grimsley.
Uncle Roger's daughter
Cyndi has made a career out of serving her country. I'm sure
there are more, forgive me for not mentioning you by name. |
Thank you, Dad, Gene, Scott, Karen, and Scott,
and all the rest, for your years of service protecting the freedom
of not just our family, but for EVERY SINGLE American
citizen. We are so proud of you and are forever in your debt.
And most of all, Thank you, God, for giving us the
freedom in the first place. |
